Pomona College Listservs
As a service to the Pomona College community, several E-mail based mass mailing lists have been created.
They are designed to facilitate the timely and cost-effective distribution of information to the campus community. In order that these lists remain a reliable means of communication, it is important that members of the Pomona community abide by a few guidelines.
Notes and Guidelines
- The Events listserv was retired. Please send event announcements to the Faculty, Staff and class listservs as appropriate. Please note that some listservs are moderated, and messages will need to be approved by listserv moderators.
- Please keep messages to 250 words or less. Attachments should be avoided.
- The complex use of color and graphics affect file size and load time and should also be avoided. If the document is very large or utilizes complex graphics, then the full text should be made available via the web and only a summary should be included in the message. The mail message may then contain the URL in the body of the message.
- Each message should contain a meaningful subject.
- For moderated lists, any infraction of these guidelines will be handled by the list moderator.

Target Audience:
All faculty at Pomona College; certain academic staff and administrators
Subscription:
Involuntary, all respective individuals are permanently subscribed to the list.
Moderators:
Office of the Dean of the College. All subscribed individuals may submit directly to the list. Messages sent to the list by individuals who are not subscribed will be rejected.
Purpose:
To be used for official communications to and among the faculty at Pomona College. Messages regarding items of general interest, articles for sale, etc. should not be sent to this list.
Staff@pomona.edu
Target Audience:
All staff and administrators at Pomona College
Subscription:
Involuntary, all respective individuals are permanently subscribed to the list.
Moderators:
Office of Human Resources. All subscribed individuals may submit directly to the list. Messages sent to the list by individuals who are not subscribed to the list will go to the designated person in the Human Resources Office for review.
Purpose:
To be used for official communications to and among the staff at Pomona College. Messages regarding items of general interest, articles for sale, etc. should not be sent to this list.
All_Students@pomona.edu
Target Audience:
All students at Pomona College.
Subscription:
Involuntary, all respective individuals are permanently subscribed to the list.
Moderators:
Office of the Dean of Students. All messages sent to the list will go to a designated official of the Dean of Student's Office for review and submission/rejection.
Purpose:
To be used for official communications to the students at Pomona College. Messages regarding items of general interest, articles for sale, etc. should not be sent to this list.

Target Audience:
All students at Pomona College except those that have unsubscribed from this mailing list.
Subscription:
Incoming students will be subscribed initially to the list. All entries must comply with the College’s Publicity Guidelines. Questions regarding the use of “Chirps!” can be addressed to the Dean of Campus Life.
Moderators:
Office of the Dean of Students. All messages sent to the list, except for those messages from approved Pomona personnel, will go to a designated official of the Dean of Student's Office for review and submission/rejection.
Purpose:
To be used for messages addressed to students regarding general announcements, upcoming events, articles for sale, lost & found, etc.
Classifieds@pomona.edu
Target Audience:
All faculty and staff at Pomona College.
Subscription:
Voluntary. But, only Pomona College Faculty and Staff can join. To subscribe/unsubscribe to the list, click here for directions
Moderators:
None
Purpose:
To be used for announcements that do not necessarily involve College business. Such messages might include: announcements about unofficial events, group outings, articles for sale, etc. The only stipulation is that messages must conform to the requirements of the College's Appropriate Use Policy.
CAUTION:
There is a 500kb message size limit to the Classifieds mailing list. Any message with/without attachments must not exceed 500kb or the message will be rejected.
